Refreshing and hydrating, this cucumber water recipe blends lemon, mint, ginger, and cucumber for a naturally flavored drink perfect for summer days or everyday detox hydration.
Ingredients
1 (2-inch) piece ginger
1 medium lemon
3 sprigs fresh mint, plus more for serving
1 medium English cucumber (about 8 ounces)
2 quarts (8 cups) water
Ice
Lemon slices, for serving
Instructions
1. Peel a 2-inch piece of ginger and cut into 3 pieces. Crush each piece lightly and place into a large pitcher.
2. Slice the lemon into rounds and add to the pitcher with 3 sprigs of mint.
3. Trim ends off cucumber. Slice one half into thin ribbons and the other half into rounds. Add both to the pitcher.
4. Stir well to release juices and blend flavors.
5. Add 2 quarts (8 cups) water and stir to combine. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or overnight.
6. Before serving, remove ginger. Serve over ice with lemon slices and mint sprigs if desired.
Notes
Storage: Refrigerate for up to 2 days.
Flavor will be more concentrated if infused overnight.
